MARGARET DAVIS Vocals * Celtic Harp * Flute * Recorders
Margaret holds degrees in Music and French from Knox College and also studied in Besançon, France and Berkeley, CA with teachers Lillian Loran, Jacques Béridot, Gerald Carey, Cheryl Ann Fulton, Diana Stork, and Eileen Hadidian. She has been performing and teaching for twenty years, specializing in the Celtic music of her Scottish heritage and Early Music. Margaret performed for six years as lead vocalist and harper
with the Medieval band Gai Saber and appeared as vocal soloist with the Renaissance music ensemble The Brass Menagerie. A life-long interest in the music of her Scots ancestry led to work with the Celtic bands Magic Fire and Four Shillings Short.
In addition to her work with Kristoph, she currently leads Celtic/Early Music Trio Broceliande
and performs with Celtic rock band Avalon Rising. Margaret has been Chairman of the Board of the Bay Area Folk Harp Society and worked with Stanford Hospital's Music for Healing Program and Oakland-based Healing Muses. She has lent her vocal and instrumental talents to dozens of recordings, and she co-runs Flowinglass Music.

Kristoph grew up in a singing family and has been performing since he could walk. He studied vocal technique with James Schwabacher and Edwin Barlow and he has appeared with the Marin Opera. In addition to his vocal and instrumental talents, Kristoph writes the original music performed by the duo. He is a former member of Celtic bands Magic Fire and Four Shillings
Short, and he currently performs with
Celtic/Early Music Trio Broceliande and leads Celtic rock band Avalon Rising. Kristoph
is an accomplished sound engineer, producer, and arranger, and through his music production company Flowinglass Music he has recorded all-Ireland concertina champion Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin, Grammy-winning harpist Janet Harbison, and many others. His original music has appeared in movie soundtracks, and he can be heard on dozens of recordings. Kristoph has been performing and teaching
voice and guitar for twenty years. |
